Disposable Cameras at Your Wedding

Let’s talk about disposable cameras at weddings. Those of you that read my blog often know that I am not in favor of them. It’s a lot of expense to get a lot of pictures of the floor or ceiling or blurry shots of people dancing. We’ve had them at weddings and you know who uses them the most, the kids. They grab them and start taking pictures the minute they see them.

Adults will bring their own cameras with them if they want to take pictures. If they don’t have the desire to take pictures, why do you think they will pick up the disposable camera on the table and take pictures for you? It just doesn’t make sense. Also many times, the camera disappears at the end of the evening, no matter how hard we try to collect them. I can understand. Aunt Susie takes what she thinks is going to be great pictures of her family all dressed up. Does she want to take a chance on leaving that camera behind and never getting to see those pictures? I doubt it.

Skip the cameras and put a note in the program asking people to send you copies of their digital pictures. Give them a website to upload the pictures on. My advice, save your money, by the time you pay for cameras and developing you could pretty much afford a photo booth, a whole lot more fun for everybody.
