This year was the year of the “bling”. Every wedding needed bling. Diamonds and crystals were sprinkled on every table and hung from every branch, or so it seemed. This coming year, I have decided, appears to be the year of what I call “the flutter”. There are fluttering feathers, in every arrangements, feathers in bouquets and feathers on dresses. Wedding headpieces are covered in feathers. If there aren’t feathers on the clothing then there are fluttering rows of ruffles, deconstructed bits of fluttering material sewn to look like feathers. Doorways and windows will be curtained with light fluttering material. Trees strung with fluttering garlands of material. Even the guys are getting into the act with feather boutonnières. So if you’re searching for the look for your wedding, maybe it’s the look of flutter.
