An Airport Wedding

The photo courtesy of Photography by Dennis & Yvette

On Saturday, we did a wedding that was quite beautiful and quite out of the ordinary. The wedding of Joey and Laura was unique in the fact that it took place at a private airport just outside of Woodruff, SC. Laura’s father is friends with the owner and he graciously allowed them to use his facility. Now this is not your average run of the mill private airport (if there is such a thing). It is over 400 acres of land with a runway, a 10,000 square foot hanger filled with antique planes, lakes, gazebos and a log cabin. It is stunningly landscaped and just breath taking.

I had waited a few days to post about the wedding, in hopes of having pictures to show that were shot by the photographers, Dennis and Yvette. Willrich Bridal took quite a few, but I knew ours would not do justice to just how beautiful the event was. So yesterday I received a few pictures from Yvette and I couldn't wait to post them for you to see.

The girls got ready in the log cabin, nestled back in the woods past the runway and hanger and around the lake. The wedding ceremony took place on the actual grass runway facing the lake.
From the minute I heard about this wedding, I knew it would be so beautiful and unique. The 100 guests were treated to views both inside and outside the ceremony tent, that just can not be beat.

The groom and groomsmen all wore flipflops for the ceremony. It was a cute idea and very weather appropriate, it was hot!

Tomorrow I will share some more of the great pictures and talk about the reception.
